Portrait/People Pictures #1 Challenge finished on Saturday, 09 Jun 2018 A bit tough to define because I don't want to overlap into other themes such as Street Photography or Sports/Action. A candid of a street vendor would be disqualified; that same vendor smiling and posing for the camera would be fine. A baseball player at bat would be disqualified; that same player posing with his equipment or teammates would be fine. Think more in terms of formal and environmental portraiture and non-public events such as family picnics, birthday parties, or just a picture showing everyday life at home. Be aware that this challenge does have capture date and image size rules, as well as a requirement to use the description field for the entry to tell us something about your subject and the circumstances of the shot.
Winner: Lightning Strike

Wide Open Challenge/Describe what you did Challenge finished on Tuesday, 05 Jun 2018 With the exception that this is a family site, anything goes, from over processed image, to microscope, to the heavens, to totally abstract. Try to do this, enter 3 images, one that is way over the top with processing, angle, whatever, one that is normal, the last that is breaking all the rules anything, whatever you want. That is only suggestions, BUT -- YOU MUST DESCRIBE WHAT YOU DID OR THINKING TO MAKE THE FINAL IMAGE. My criteria is simple, keep it so if your kids see it, they're not going to be grossed out, scared to death, or exposed to outright hate and violence. I will delete, without any explanation, violations.
