From police officers to police cars - your qualifying picture should contain an easily discernible theme about the men and women of law enforcement.
Partial view of city life (READ RULES) Challenge finished on Saturday, 26 Feb 2011 Let's see something that depicts the city lifestyle. HERE'S THE CATCH, you must not show the subject in its entirety. This means if your subject is a person it must be only a part of that person ex. their hands, legs, torso without the head, etc. Full portrait shots are NOT allowed, thus your subject may not be the full head and shoulders of a person, though you could do half or a potion of their head. Other examples may be a car of which you only show the view from the bumper or a street sign which is cut off in the picture. If you do a building front we should get the feeling that a good portion of it is out of frame.

Your Favourite Image Of The Week 2011 Number Five ( 04/02/2011 - 10/02/2011) Challenge finished on Friday, 25 Feb 2011 Quite simple really, all you need to do is submit your favourite image of the Week. Images must be taken within the seven day period shown in the title. The weeks first day will ALWAYS be the Friday announcement date and the last day for image taking will ALWAYS be the following Thursday just before the submission phase begins. All images shot within the week of the submission phase will automatically be disqualified with no exceptions. The simple reason for this is that they would of course be eligible for the next Favourite of the Week challenge. A description of why the image is your 'Favourite Of The Week' is encouraged BUT NOT mandatory. Nudity will ALWAYS be disqualified , Horrific & Gory pictures will ALWAYS be disqualified. Only DIGITAL camera images ( from any brand of Camera) will be accepted. The Image must have been taken by you.

High IQ landscapes, number 3 Challenge finished on Thursday, 24 Feb 2011 The theme here is technical photography and realism. The subject is rich high quality color landscapes. Deep DOF, perfect exposure, low distortion, no vignetting, clarity and technically as good as possible. This is for traditional scenics, like rivers, seascapes, mountains, deserts. This is intended for photographers who use release cables, MLU, tripods, excellent glass and high resolution cameras.
Film Effects: Solarization Challenge finished on Thursday, 24 Feb 2011 Solarization is an old darkroom technique made quite easy by many photo editors. As in the "Film Era", Solarization was most effective if the starting image was already a good photo. Special effects don't make a bad image good. Start with a good image and use Solarization effects to make it more effective.
