Toys Take Over ! [ Theme detailed below, please read to avoid DQ ]. Challenge finished on Sunday, 27 Mar 2011 Lets see you get creative using NON-cuddly toys and ornaments, but outdoors as though alive and `in the wild`, [ similar premise to the Cuddly Toys Go Wild challenge [ http://www.dpreview.com/challenges/Challenge.aspx?ID=4140 ] Set it up to seem as much like the habitat the toy or ornament would live in, or roam, or do battle in if a real live version of the human, or robot or mythical creature the toy or ornament represents, whatever suits to make it as realistic as you can, any type or toy or ornament is fine but not public statues, so if using an ornament it must at least be reasonably portable.
Water Birds Undercarriage At Work [ Specific theme, see below ] Challenge finished on Sunday, 27 Mar 2011 Any species of bird for which water is their primary habitat [ ie waterfowl, shorebirds, waders, gulls, pelicans etc ] at the moment of take off or landing, one or both feet ideally touching a surface be it ground, water, rock, nest, building, wood etc or at the most be clearly within inches of it to make it obvious a take off or landing was in progress, precision timing is key for this challenge. No feeding shots, just landing or taking off. To far from theme will mean a DQ.
Crowds (read the rules) Challenge finished on Saturday, 26 Mar 2011 Taking a break from the city theme of the series (though the city is a great place for this kind of material). This week we're sharing pictures of crowds. This could be a crowd at the crosswalk or a crowd at a sporting event or anything you want but there must be at minimum of 9 people in the picture OR if that's not the case then the people should fill the frame completely and convey a sense of being cramped...if they don't do this the you'll be DQed.
