Nifty fifty Challenge finished on Monday, 19 Dec 2016 This all about the 50mm lens. Take a shot with any camera, of any subject, but it has to be taken with a 50mm lens. I know the equivalent for DX, crop sensor, camera's is 35mm, I will accept those and the 25mm in Micro 4\3's. So, FX = 50mm DX = 35mm Micro 4\3 = 25mm

For this challenge please submit a photo taken using a ND Filter but... water must NOT be a significant part of the image. Lets see your creative terrestrial use of a ND filter. You MUST also include either the type of filter used or the reduction in stops due to your filter. Host is the sole arbitrator determining if submissions meet the intent of the challenge. Landscapes with a "Wide Open aperture" Challenge finished on Thursday, 15 Dec 2016 Generally landscape photography is shot with an aperture between f7.1 and f11. The reason why is that is where most lenses are at their sharpest, and your depth of field (parts in focus) normally covers the entire image..However, sometimes rules are merely guidelines. With that in mind, the challenge this week is to shoot at the wider apertures. Anything up to f5.6 will be accepted. With a wide open aperture you will notice the background will blur (that is called bokeh)...Keep the subject as sharp as possible though...Things that work good for this sort of challenge are things with detail...Wildflowers, foliage etc works well...Get your creativity hats on and get shooting..
