breaking cliches Challenge finished on Sunday, 08 Nov 2015 We all have at least one photo cliche in our portfolio, the stunning sunset, the silky waterfall, the portrait with blurry background. while these photos are cliches for a reason (usually aesthetically pleasing), we see them often enough they loose their impact for the general viewer. in this challenge I propose entrants submit photos of cliched subjects, but add something to "break" the cliche. see sample for example. BE CREATIVE, HAVE FUN.

Your entries can be a single bird, or pairs, families or flocks; in water, on land, or in flight mode. Please, no chickens, turkeys, peacocks, or any other species. No roast duck, no Peking Duck... Evidence of man or man-made objects should be minimal. Size: 1,600 pixels on the longer side of your entry. Macro and close-ups welcome.
PETS: Portraits Dogs and Cats Challenge finished on Friday, 06 Nov 2015 This challenge is focused on getting a beautiful portrait photo of your loved one. The idea is to keep waist up or shoulders up with avoiding full body if anatomically possible. The focus should be as with people, to bring out the flattering look of your pet and to get their "best side". Judging for this will be on how well the person is able to capture the portrait of their pet and how well its composed.
