The mood of the city (2011) Challenge finished on Sunday, 06 Nov 2011 Ok, very complicated... What we are looking here is the "mood" of a city through its people. Very easy example: do you think New York is a stressing town? Ok, then upload a picture of some one living in NY who - through his/her actions or facial expression - can "demostrate" that NY is actually stressing. Do you think that Paris is a relaxing town? Ok, then get a picture of a (or more) very relaxed person(s) living in Paris. In brief: pictures should be able to transmit the mood/character of a city by looking at the people who's living in it. Being your personal interpretation, everything works: it's your choice to represent a city in a certain way, if you really feel that way. So, to conclude: each picture must have at least 1 person in a clear urban environment (pls, "urban" environment only...). Only pictures taken this year. Pls write anywhere the name of the city.

Meet me at .... Challenge finished on Sunday, 06 Nov 2011 You get a phone call from a friend or a relative visiting your city/town for the first time and he/she is asking where to meet. you should think of a place, well known and easy to get to. The fish square, the famous huge cathedral, the tallest building with horse sign on top, or the oldest cafe in town. A place that your friend/relative can ask people in the street for directions and they can easily tell him/her how to get there. You got the idea, Show us that place/landmark.

Power Lines Challenge finished on Sunday, 06 Nov 2011 Photo Realism. Take a photo of any power line, giving a realistic representation of it in natural color. Avoid oversaturated, artifically vibrant colors, and no black and white. Any type of power line is fine, from the power plant to the house or building it services. A single line, pole, or insulator will work, or a photo of power lines stretching for miles. Strive for realism, and use the scene itself rather than digital processing on the camera or PC to create the art.
