Landing Airplanes Challenge finished on Saturday, 25 Feb 2012 Photo should be of a plane landing. Any powered airplane or unpowered sailplane, from an ultralight to an Antanov AN-225 to the Space Shuttle will be fine. Hang gliders, powered parachutes, and anything without wings are not fine. The plane should be landing, not just on approach, that is, the plane should be over or just on the runway or landing area.
Longshot! Challenge finished on Friday, 24 Feb 2012 This one's pretty ambiguous - was the shot taken with your longest lens? Was it one that was difficult or a longshot that you didn't think you could catch? Leave this one open to your imagination, just pay attention to the capture date rule.
Winner: this one might be closed (1 of 1)
Sorry, We're Closed Challenge finished on Friday, 24 Feb 2012 Take a photo of a store that's closed. Can be from inside, outside looking in the window, a shot of the storefront from the street... Any kind of store as long as it's obvious the store is closed. For the evening or forever. Restaurants are okay too.

Creative Filters: Graduated Neutral Density Challenge finished on Friday, 24 Feb 2012 Achieving creative effects using graduated neutral density (ND grad) filters. Solid ND filters are not eligible, as they were the subject of a previous challenge. Please read all of the additional rules carefully - during the first challenge I disqualified nearly half of the entries because they did not include details of the type of filter used to achieve the shot. Definition: An ND grad filter typically screws or slots onto the end of a primary lens. Half of the filter is clear, but the other half blocks up to four stops of light. ND grad filters can be used to bring an overly bright part of a scene into the dymanic range of a film or sensor. They are often used to darken a bright sky so that both the sky and subject can be properly exposed (credit: wikipedia).

Try to be as original as possible - perhaps an unusual crop on the feet, or a wide-angle habitat shot where the reptile is only a small (but integral) component of the overall picture. Please also include the species name and approximate location.
