Perhaps your gift will be a beautiful flower or a tree which appeals to our senses, a view of a stunning landscape, free-flying birds, fresh water, (the ultimate gift of life), a honey bee helping to produce the foods which we eat..... Please, no humans, man-made structures or domestic pets. Macro and close-ups welcome. SIZE: 1,600pixels MAXIMUM ON LONGER SIDE.
Using and changing the environment - Landscape Water Features Challenge finished on Friday, 01 Jan 2016 In placing a building or other structure in the environment, a builder/designer often modifies the landscape to incorporate water features that provide softening and soothing elements. In a desert or arid environment they provide a sense of calm and well-being. In a tropical or otherwise verdant location the same features may be peaceful and cooling with the sound and movement of the water. In the case of fountains, the design may incorporate design elements that connote welcome and peace (one such element is seen in the pineapple motif in the example, below). This challenge calls for us to provide photographs that illustrate the use of man-made water features in a landscape. Images may include fountains, waterfalls, pools, cascades in streams, etc. The common elements in the pictures will be: 1) the clear subject will be the water feature 2) the water feature must be man-made - no natural waterfalls, rivers, or streams 3) You must take pride in your entry, enjoy the trip
