Outside your comfort zone Challenge finished on Friday, 02 Mar 2012 Your assignment: Take a photo of something you dislike, and try to see it in a different way. Or try something entirely new. Some examples: If you're a nature photog who doesn't do people photography, take a portrait. If you don't like cats, photograph one. Hate spiders? Well...if it's a phobia talk with your doctor before attempting to use them as a subject, and if they're poisonous steer clear, otherwise give it a try. ;) You get the idea. I hope.
Winner: Windows to the Soul
The Forgotten Image Challenge finished on Friday, 02 Mar 2012 How many times have we just overlooked a particular image or series after a long day of shooting? How often does procrastination get the best of us? Sometimes we just don't see the result we expected, while other times we aren't looking with the right eyes. Maybe we just didn't have the software or processing equipment at the time to realize our vision. Whatever the reason, it's time to pull out old photos that you haven't yet processed. Process them using whatever current technique you like (subtle sharpening to full blown HDR is fine), and give life to a photo that you'd otherwise forgotten. I'm not talking about processing a shot from a series that you already liked and had processed several of; this one must be from something you completely overlooked. Note the old capture date rule.
