Often they aren't so friendly to those of us who accidentally encounter them or their nests. However, they are very useful, as parasitizers to control most pest insects. Macro and close-up shots welcome. The wasps or hornets, must be outside, on flowers, leaves, flying around, tending their nests, or just doing what they do; NOT under studio lights. Entry must state the color(s) of the bird in the title or description and the color must not be a black or white bird. It must have other color to fit the challenge. cambodia 1 of 4: environmental portraits Challenge finished on Thursday, 21 Mar 2013 When we think of Cambodia, our thoughts naturally turn to Angkor Wat. But its people are incredibly photogenic. From monks, to adorable children, to adults working in their day-to-day lives, it's hard to find a person that is not worthy of a photograph. So, show us these images. No close-ups...that will be for next week's challenge. See my earlier challenges, or send me a PM, if you have any questions about what an "environmental" portrait is. In addition, this particular challenge is for subjects that are *not* staring into the camera and/or not posing for the camera. Entrants are required to (1) vote for each other entry, (2) read the comments (if any) below this challenge, in case I or other entrants post with Rules questions or clarifications, and (3) follow each of the challenge rules. **UPDATE** FOR THIS CHALLENGE, YOU **MUST** VOTE ON OR BEFORE TUESDAY. (IE, YOU HAVE ONLY 6 DAYS TO VOTE, INSTEAD OF 7 DAYS!!!!).
