Woodworking Challenge finished on Saturday, 18 Aug 2012 A couple years ago, I decided I wanted to get into woodworking. I went out and spent a small fortune turning my garage into a shop. Now that stuff primarily collects dust. Let's see you actually putting your tools to use and building something.
Tree Bark Challenge finished on Saturday, 18 Aug 2012 The bark on trees, (not the four-legged kind) can offer interesting and beautiful images. Show us texture, pattern, colour, light and shade, rough and smooth. Needless to say, the tree and its bark should be outside in its natural environment, not under studio lights! If you know the name of the tree, let us know. If there are small insects on the tree, that's okay, but they must not dominate the picture. SIZE DOES MATTER: See below!
Windmills Challenge finished on Saturday, 18 Aug 2012 Very simple: just submit your best picture of windmill(s). Please read the rules carefuly

Scenic Maine Challenge finished on Friday, 17 Aug 2012 Here's a bit of a selfish challenge. I'm going to Maine next month and would love to get some inspiration. Winner: The Storm
The Lightning Bolt Challenge finished on Friday, 17 Aug 2012 Remember Harry Potter's sign? Yeah, there you go... need something similar to that but the bolt should be created by Nature. Bring up your photos where you have captured lightnings, the terrific, the eye catching, the lightning bolt :)
Winner: The model shoot
Miniatures out of perspective Challenge finished on Friday, 17 Aug 2012 A toy train that looks like the full scale real thing. A model of a moon landing that looks legit. A hot-wheel car that looks like you could drive it away. Take tiny things, put them in the appropraite back ground and take a shot that makes it look lifesize!
The Moment of Realization Challenge finished on Thursday, 16 Aug 2012 READ THE RULES THOROUGHLY! IMAGES WILL BE JUDGED STRICTLY! The are moments in life when you realize that something significant has occurred. Positive or negative, planned or unplanned, expected or unexpected. This challenge focuses on those moments in life.
Winner: Arcs and Spikes
Green Leaves Of Summer Challenge finished on Thursday, 16 Aug 2012 Titled after the unforgettable theme from "The Alamo" (1960, Paul Francis Webster / Dimitri Tiomkin), this Challenge is about the green leaves, which keep us breathing. Simple theme. Make it interesting, though. Find a nice lighting, find peculiar surfaces... and do not forget to observe the simple rules.
