North Africa: Their People Challenge finished on Thursday, 02 Jan 2014 My challenges will move through Africa, roughly from N to S. We've already done Egypt, so the next two challenges will be for the following countries and regions: Western Sahara; Morocco; Tunesia; Algeria, Libya; Mauritania; Mali; Niger; Chad; Sudan; [ South Sudan. It is my sense that very few people have been to many/all of these countries, so I don't think we'll hit the 35-entry maximum. If we do, then I'll probably add more spaces, so everyone who wants can enter. Entrants are required to (1) vote for each other entry, (2) read the comments (if any) below this challenge, in case I or other entrants post with Rules questions or clarifications, and (3) follow each of the challenge rules...including voting WITHIN THE FIRST SIX DAYS of the challenge.

Discussion challenge: Off Centered Subject Challenge finished on Monday, 30 Dec 2013 Your subject should not be centered in the photo. Make use of framing and negative blank space. This challenge encourages discussion for improvement. Consider that the earlier you enter, the more likely your entry will receive critique. You, as well as any DP review member are encouraged to critique entries by adding comments on how you think images can be improved. The entrant, after reading comments may make modifications, and replace the first photo with a modified version of that photo if they think the suggestions have merit. When withdrawing an entry, all comments in a challenge are lost, therefore, BEFORE withdrawing, please copy & paste challenge comments to the original photo in your own gallery, (so they can be referenced later when people ask what they comments were and what you did for improvement). THEN withdraw, and immediately re-enter with your modified photo before the challenge goes to vote.
