An A to Z of Subjects- Week 1, A Challenge finished on Monday, 07 Nov 2016 Random Items are no longer, they may reappear later if there is an interest. An A to Z of Subjects- Week 1, A- This week the main subject must start with the Letter A, So the subject could be anything from Aardvark to Aztec. Do you have an apple? Maybe an airplane? How about an astronaut? Remember as this is an open challenge your image must really stand out to win. The rules are simple but I require you to state the subject in either the description or the title. Please do not be too ambiguous, otherwise, it may be disqualified.
Winner: Hungry Eyes
Cut off.. Challenge finished on Monday, 07 Nov 2016 Lets see an image where you have cut off part of it, intentionally, for effect. For example, half a face, a couple's hands, half of a flower. NO head and shoulder portraits for this one, thinking cutting off the lower part of the body is sufficient. Now, this is subjective, and maybe a little confusing, so please see the many examples I have provided.

Medium-Sized Birds Challenge finished on Saturday, 05 Nov 2016 Small birds enjoyed their display on these pages recently, now it's time to showcase the medium-sized birds in their own nature challenge. These birds are about 9" to 16" in length, or 23 to 41cm. I would consider medium sized birds to be gulls, doves, crows, parrots, owls, some of the raptors, (but not condors or large eagles), etc. Evidence of humans, pets, or man-made constructions should be minimal. Large birds will have their own challenge in the near future. Size of your entry: 1,600 pixels on the longer side. Information about medium-sized birds can be obtained from: http://www.whatbird.com/browse/objs/All/birds_na_147/51/Size/126/Medium%20(9%20-%2016%20in)

Waterfalls Challenge finished on Thursday, 03 Nov 2016 A waterfall shot....waterfalls could be small back yard jobs or huge crescendos of liquid flowing off a cliff face. Personally, I prefer the quieter smaller ones, but each to their own. I am an avid waterfall chaser and love photographing waterfalls. Silky misty water or sharp droplets that are frozen in time? Your choice...
