Chaos theory Challenge finished on Tuesday, 06 Mar 2018 This is the sixth in the series: ‘Seven Scientific Theories’. Imagine you have been asked to provide one or two creative and inspirational illustrations for a textbook on chaos theory. Complexity comes from simple mathematical rules. Minor variations in the starting position may result in very different results. Chaos theory may describe unpredictable events. Storms? Fractal patterns in nature (ferns, ice crystals, the self-similarity of coastlines)? A horse race? (The whole series is here: https://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/4236850 )

Winner: Glass & Stripes
Glassware. Challenge finished on Saturday, 03 Mar 2018 Submit a creative image of clear NON COLORED glassware. Anything from a wineglass to a vase. Use natural or artificial lighting. Your lighting can be colored if you so desire. No solid items inside or outside the glassware. Liquids, though, are allowed inside the glassware, whether clear or colored in order to enhance the image if you chose, but not a requirement. The only object, other than the glassware, that is allowed in your image is what the glassware is placed on, and it must be a simple, single colored object only, but can be of a reflective material like glass or a mirror for example. You can, though, use more than one glassware item in your image. The background MUST be of a solid color only. Although, your background can be of a type that can be back-lit for a more creative effect . No multi colored backgrounds. The object of this challenge is to see how creative you can be with your lighting. Enjoy!
