Often they aren't so friendly to those of us who accidentally encounter them or their nests. However, they are very useful, as parasitizers to control most pest insects. Macro and close-up shots welcome. The wasps or hornets, must be outside, on flowers, leaves, flying around, tending their nests, or just doing what they do; NOT under studio lights. No bees, flies or spiders etc. Check Wikipedia for more information about wasps and hornets, or http://bugguide.net/node/view/59/bgpage SIZE: 1,600px MAXIMUM ON LONGER SIDE.

Entry must state the color(s) of the bird in the title or description and the color must not be a black or white bird. It must have other color to fit the challenge.
