Central Africa: Non-Portraits Challenge finished on Thursday, 20 Feb 2014 As we move (roughly) south thru Africa, the this challenge will cover the following countries: Burundi, Uganda, Rwanda, The CAR, Dem Rep of Congo; Zimbabwe, and Zambia. It is my sense that very few people have been to many/all of these countries, so I don't think we'll hit the 35-entry maximum. If we do, then I'll probably add more spaces, so everyone who wants can enter. Entrants are required to (1) vote for each other entry, (2) read the comments (if any) below this challenge, in case I or other entrants post with Rules questions or clarifications, and (3) follow each of the challenge rules...including voting WITHIN THE FIRST SIX DAYS of the challenge.

Flower(s) with backlighting Challenge finished on Monday, 17 Feb 2014 Add some drama to a photograph of a flower (or flowers) by photographing with sunlight, sun sets, or your own lighting indoors as the background. This can create a silhouette with some detail within the flower, or Contre-jour affect. Both qualify for entry here. this challenge requires some shadowing, or detail , rather than a completely solid floral silhouette.

There must be some degree of face shown for the main subject. Put a Border and include a Watermarked TITLE for your entry. Photo can be taken with any camera, i.e DSLR, SLR, Mirrorless, Compact, Smartphone, etc... Sunset/sunrise shots are acceptable provided the main subject is not a silhouette.
