Remember this series is Fine Art; One definition of Fine Art is "art for art's sake". This series is targetted at attracting images that are beautiful not so much because of the subject, but the image itself. The technology behind the image might have little bearing on the result. So whether you are using a pin-hole camera or the latest manufacturers flagship - its all equal here! We are looking for beautiful compositions and plays of light and shapes.
Winner: Sequoia Moon
Moon Halo Challenge finished on Thursday, 08 May 2014 Moon halos occur because of refraction in tiny hexagonal ice crystals in the air. Submit a picture of the moon with a halo surrounding it. The moon could be anywhere in the sky (low in horizon, or straight up). It's allowed if the moon or its halo are partially blocked (by a mountain, a house, etc.) It's preferable that the features of the moon actually show to some degree such that the disk is not simply a monotone blob. The picture could be wide angle or zoom to any degree, as long as the halo is recognizable I do not have a sample picture of my own, but a quick Google image search should give you an idea.
Winner: Open space

No scenes of cities/buildings/towns or parts of in your submitted image please. People, as mentioned, and perhaps a man made object like a small bridge or pathway is fine as long as it doesn't detract from the main theme and become the main subject itself.
