Noir photography Challenge finished on Monday, 17 Oct 2016 Moody, dark and dramatic. Film noirs tended to use low-key lighting schemes producing stark light/dark contrasts and dramatic shadow patterning. That's what we are looking for here. You can do a search on NOIR and see examples. Subject matter is open.
Winner: Ready for the week
Show us CLOTHING! Challenge finished on Monday, 17 Oct 2016 Clothes. They are what keeps us from getting arrested in public. But they do indeed have other uses. They keep us warm, or they keep us cool. Clothing like jackets can keep us dry in the rain or snow. They can display a message, like on a t-shirt. And they show the world what our fashion-sense is. Maybe we like casual clothes... maybe we like snazzy ties... or a stunning dress. CLOTHES!
Forced Perspective Challenge finished on Sunday, 16 Oct 2016 Have you ever held the sun in your hands, stood on your friends fingertip, climbed a building batman style? Try your hand using forced perspective to create a compelling or fun photograph. You can google Forced Perspective for ideas of what to shoot. No photoshoping (PP) of the effect. BE CREATIVE, HAVE FUN.
Winner: Pure Reflection
- Mirror in the water (Full Colours Only + A white Border) Challenge finished on Sunday, 16 Oct 2016 Take a landscape genre day shot with a landscape orientation which lends a vision as per what was described in the theme/title. Make sure that it remains relatively free of humans. Add an elegant white border. My keyword suggestions - show perfection and stillness. Winner: Green and blue
Green Flowers Challenge finished on Saturday, 15 Oct 2016 Yes, that's right, this challenge is seeking your best pictures of live green, open flowers; natural, not artificially coloured for the florist trade or styling gurus. I would prefer them to be still outside growing in their natural environment. Flowers which are green include varieties of orchids, euphorbias, daisies, hellebores, chrysanthemums.... Please keep your entry's natural colour. Other colours may be present in the flower, but green must be dominant, so we can say, "That's a green flower!" Minimal evidence of humans, pets, or man-made constructions please. Size of your entry: 1,600 pixels on the longer side.
Winner: Rovinj morning glory
Urban panorama Challenge finished on Friday, 14 Oct 2016 Upload a panoramic image of an urban area that has a relatively wide aspect ratio. In camera panoramas are preferred but manually stitched images are allowed. Outdoor or indoor images are accepted.
