The Devil's in the Detail Challenge finished on Thursday, 11 Dec 2014 Show us an image where the focus is an object of nature that has many minute details. It can be a macro or regular shot of any focal length, but there must be a lot of complexity to the object. Flowers are ideal for this kind of thing, but if you've captured an interesting landscape that shows incredible detail, then it would also be a good candidate for this challenge. No manmade objects should be in focus in your image. HDR processing is okay, but your image must look natural and realistic.

Winner: STABLE DOOR
An open door Challenge finished on Sunday, 07 Dec 2014 The second and, as it turns out, final, challenge in this series was also going to be one for you to shoot in the two weeks between announcement and submissions ending but the cheating in the first challenge makes this pointless. This time, please submit an image of an open door through which people go. It doesn't matter what sort of door, or into or out of what building. The door should be the principal element of the image; see how the first example achieves this with light, even though the doorway is not the largest element of the image, while in the second example, the doorway occupies almost all the frame. Don't lose sleep over this; if someone casually looking at your image would agree that it's a photo of an open door or doorway, you've got it right. When voting, please feel free to place an appreciative comment below any images you particularly like, and more importantly, polite and constructive criticism below any which you score low.
