Macro- It's Dark Challenge finished on Wednesday, 27 Apr 2016 Submit a macro photo of something where most of the photograph is dark. From the host of this challenge: I strive to bring challenges to the community that are not repeats of my previous challenges. I have strove to offer challenges that are fresh, new, and unique to my past challenges. It has become more and more difficult to deliver new and fresh challenges that are not repeats of my past challenges, but I consider it a challenge to myself to offer new and fresh challenges to the community. Who am I? I'm a 15 year U.S. Biology Teacher, with a master +30, and a U.S. Physical Science Technician (retired). I am an avid supporter of Pentax dslr camera(s) and lenses. Life in the Macro Jungle Challenge finished on Saturday, 23 Apr 2016 This Macro Nature challenge invites you to show us pictures of insects, spiders, or other small creatures in their natural habitat, amongst grasses, leaves, plant stems, flowers, etc. Pictures where the insects or spiders dominate a single flower or leaf and there is a plain background will be disqualified, since that does not give us the impression of 'life in the jungle'. Think busy scenes, with interesting camouflage for these little creatures. Macro or close-up shots only. The size of your entry is important: 1,600 pixels on the longer side. DPR does not reduce the size of your entry; you need to do it yourself, or be disqualified.
