Macro - Small Machinery Challenge finished on Wednesday, 04 May 2016 Submit a macro photo of small machinery or simple machine(s) in Science. From the host of this challenge: I strive to bring challenges to the community that are not repeats of my previous challenges. I have strove to offer challenges that are fresh, new, and unique to my past challenges. It has become more and more difficult to deliver new and fresh challenges that are not repeats of my past challenges, but I consider it a challenge to myself to offer new and fresh challenges to the community. Who am I? I'm a 15 year U.S. Biology Teacher, with a master +30, and a U.S. Physical Science Technician (retired). I am an avid supporter of Pentax dslr camera(s) and lenses. Winner: Phoenix Rising
- Visions of a phoenix - (Black and White + A white Border) Challenge finished on Sunday, 01 May 2016 A phoenix is a mythical bird which is said to be able rise out of its ashes, brimming with flaming life once again. In this pseudo abstract imaginary challenge, take a non-human photo which lends a vision as per what was described in the theme/title. Process the photo into BW format (preferably grey-scale) and add an elegant white border. My keyword suggestions - show movement, graceful flow and beautiful gradation of BW tones, eyeball grabbing, surreal, pop.
