Landscape Photo with Complementary Colours. Challenge finished on Thursday, 17 Mar 2016 There are many theories on which colours are complementary! Complementary colours may enhance colours contrasts. In this challenge we will focus on the colour pairs of yellow and blue, or red and green. Can you create a landscape photo that utilises either set of complimentary colours? Please vote on which photo is most technically accomplished, most aesthetically pleasing, and that contains a blue-yellow or red-green colour palette. If you are a member of Flickr you may also wish to post your photo to the group "Landscape Challenge", newly created for this challenge series: https://www.flickr.com/groups/2918843@N21/

Things that don't make good pictures Challenge finished on Thursday, 17 Mar 2016 Anyone can take a picture of a landscape or a bowl of fruit, but what about a lamp post? Stretch your imagination and go find something, anything. The subject must be something that would not normally be used for a picture. Go out and find something. Look for the different or strange subject; a machine part, a body part (keep it clean), a stick, whatever. Then make it an interesting picture. Process it how you like. B/W, full color, some weird filter, grainy, whatever it takes to make it pleasing to your eye. Just get out and think about subject and composition.

From the host of this challenge: I strive to bring challenges to the community that are not repeats of my previous challenges. I have strove to offer challenges that are fresh, new, and unique to my past challenges. It has become more and more difficult to deliver new and fresh challenges that are not repeats of my past challenges, but I consider it a challenge to myself to offer new and fresh challenges to the community. Who am I? I'm a 15 year U.S. Biology Teacher, with a master +30, and a U.S. Physical Scientist Technician (retired). I am an avid supporter of Pentax dslr camera(s) and lenses.
