Eastern Africa: Non-Portraits Challenge finished on Thursday, 20 Mar 2014 As we move (roughly) south thru Africa, this challenge will cover the following countries: Tanzania; Malawi; Mozambique; Madagascar; Seychelles; and Mauritius. I am unsure about how many people have been to these countries, so I don't think we'll hit the 35-entry maximum. If we do, then I'll probably add more spaces, so everyone who wants can enter. Entrants are required to (1) vote for each other entry, (2) read the comments (if any) below this challenge, in case I or other entrants post with Rules questions or clarifications, and (3) follow each of the challenge rules...including voting WITHIN THE FIRST SIX DAYS of the challenge.
Winner: On the mountain top
Small Planet Challenge finished on Thursday, 20 Mar 2014 Submit an image that employs the small planet technique. All subjects are welcome. Refer to sample image for example. The goal is to experiment with the technique from a photographic point of view with only the minimum photoshop or equivalent work needed to generate the planet, and, to have a reasonable panorama to work with. A 360 degree panorama is preferred. Panoramas of less than that are acceptable provided the full-circle continuity of the planet is smooth. I will removed submissions that are clearly not following the minimum effort needed. Before you enter this challenge, please open your profile and note your challenge statistics, then read Additional rules.
Secret Silhouettes Challenge finished on Thursday, 20 Mar 2014 I always feel silhouettes have a secret to hide. What are they looking at? What are they thinking? Are they smiling? Crying? Frowning? Happy? Sad? Who the heck really knows? I think that's part of the power of silhouettes... they introduce mystery into the frame. Let's see your shots with no-name faces... shhhhh... go get some secret silhouettes.
