Insects, Mollusks, and spiders up close and personal Challenge finished on Tuesday, 14 Jul 2015 The idea of this challenge is to get down and dirty in the grass looking for insects to photograph. The idea behind the challenge is to get you to look at the smaller things in life. Mollusks means slugs and snails so add any of them, insects, or spiders to the challenge.

The Harris Shutter Effect. Challenge finished on Tuesday, 14 Jul 2015 The Harris shutter is a strip device with three colour filters, invented by Robert S. "Bob" Harris of Kodak. The effect is produced by re-exposing the same frame of film through red, green and blue filters, while keeping the camera steady. This will generate a rainbow of colour around any object that moves within the frame. With digital photography, the process has become a lot simpler – the photographer can simply take three colour photographs on location, and then use software to take the Red channel from one exposure, combine with the blue and green channels from the other two photos to good effect. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harris_shutter
Tools Challenge finished on Monday, 13 Jul 2015 Where I live, in NorthEast of Italy, work is very often seen (unfortunately) nearly like a religion, especially if you're older than 40. No surprise that working tools are considered rather holy than useful, they are loved instead of maintained...and this inspired me this challenge. Take a picture of one or more working tools, they must be as clean and in good shape as you can. Tools can be more than one and different only if they're related to the same job (don't couple a taylor scissor and a hammer!). No human is allowed in the picture. Only submit B&W picture.
-Fortysomething- (Lady's Portrait in Full Colours Only + Border + Title Watermark) Challenge finished on Monday, 13 Jul 2015 Take a well lit well composed shot of ONE woman aged in her forties. There shall be no one else in the photo. Add a border and title watermark on the photo/border. It cannot be a snapshot; if she appears to not know her photo was being taken, I might disqualify it. Photo can be taken with any camera. Sunset/sunrise shots are acceptable provided she's not in silhouette.
B/W Landscape Challenge finished on Monday, 13 Jul 2015 The category is landscapes, and this time, it's black and white only.
Don't blink! Challenge finished on Monday, 13 Jul 2015 Submit a photo of a rare or very fast occurrence that look a lot of luck to get. You should have to sit and wait for hours, months, days, or even years to get another chance to take this photo. No "rigged" photos, or photos that are easily repeatable if a human simply does an action again.
