Growing Fruit Challenge finished on Saturday, 23 Jul 2016 In this nature challenge, show us pictures of edible, or culinary fruit, any variety of fruit, but they MUST still be growing on the trees, vines, bushes, shrubs, canes, plants, etc. Viewers who look at these entries will be able to see the trees where their oranges and apples come from, the grapes on their vines, or raspberries still on their canes. Photos of fruit in a bowl at home ready to eat, or still in the supermarket will be disqualified. I'll accept pictures of tomatoes in this challenge, since botanically it is a fruit. Macro and close-ups welcome. Size of your entry: 1,600 pixels on its longer side.
The Illusion of Depth and Distance Challenge finished on Saturday, 23 Jul 2016 This is going to take some creativity on your part. Submit an image of a fence, road, railway track, sidewalk, as examples, using perspective. For those who are not familiar with the term perspective, it's an object in which its parallel lines are shown as converging so as to give, as the title of the challenge suggests, the illusion of depth and distance. So, if, for example, you are using a fence as your subject, show the top and bottom of the fence converging together off into the distance. Or perhaps the left and right sides of a roadway coming together in the distance. Try to be creative with your image. Whatever object you use that has two parallel lines, try to position it forcing the viewer to follow those converging lines off into the distance or perhaps infinity.

The aim is to present the human eye with a similar range of luminance as that which, through the visual system, is familiar in everyday life. - Wikipedia. #10 Hobby Challenge finished on Thursday, 21 Jul 2016 Has it ever happened to you, that after many years, you found some of the collectibles from your old hobby? I remember, last week, while cleaning my attic, I found my old stamp album, and it did bring smile to my face. In this challenge, I am looking forward to see something of that sort. Now, our primary hobby is photography, and everyone knows that. In this challenge, I would prefer to see something other than cameras, but this is not a rule, but a preference.
