River, Stream, Brook or Trickle Challenge finished on Sunday, 17 Jun 2018 Anything that naturally allows running water. Not man made as in a faucet to a canal, but as natural as mother nature intended. It can have water in it or not, flowing or still, it doesn't matter, but it needs to be a place that has water running through it in the past or present, from the Grand Canyon to a trickle of a spring to a carved out canyon that hasn't had water running through it in thousands of years. There can't be anything man made, from a boat, to a dock, to a home, or object. Think of it as an image that's been made before humans walked the earth.

environmental portrait of an outdoor statue Challenge finished on Thursday, 14 Jun 2018 Environmental portraiture may not apply to statues, but the idea is to take a picture that shows us the statue in its setting, whether that's in a park or in front of a library, school, museum, train station, or whatever. Avoid tight shots with blurred-out backgrounds; give us enough of the surroundings so we get a sense of how it fits in with or enhances the place it is located at. This challenge has a size limitation, a capture date rule, and requires some text in the description field.
