Decisive moment-revisited Challenge finished on Friday, 23 Jan 2015 The decisive moment refers to capturing an event that is ephemeral and spontaneous, where the image represents the essence of the event itself. So... share with us great photos showing a decisive moment.**** I'd like to revisit this subject and go back to the classics – decisive moments captured in the STREET. NOT in the nature or in your backyard. This challenge is for street photographers. Please consult me if you are not sure whether your entry is in line with this challenge theme. **** Check the web for some great examples: http://petapixel.com/2013/08/12/the-decisive-moment-and-the-human-brain/ http://erickimphotography.com/blog/2010/07/01/%E2%80%9Chow-to-masterthe-decisive-moment%E2%80%9D/ I'll review the entries carefully and DQ any entry which will not convince me to be a genuine decisive moment
Winner: Two jellyfish
-My Best Fish Shots- (Full Colours Only + Border) Challenge finished on Thursday, 22 Jan 2015 No, this challenge isn't about a dead fish (or one about to be dead) being hauled and strung up by a silly smiling human being. This challenge is about the beauty and fin-ness (pardon the pun) of one of nature's most elegant creatures. Whether you fancy a Japanese Koi, an awesome Jellyfish, majestic Arowanas, or a simple Gold Fish, now is the time to submit your best shots of beautiful fish. As long as it's alive and it's pretty enough to be seen rather than be eaten; AND it's a species of fish or has a 'fish' to its name, I'll allow it. It's preferable to have one or two fish as the main subject so that we can look at the details in its body, but I'll also allow it if you snapped a whole school of fish. You may submit more than one entry, but please don't submit the same fish(es) in every entry. Put a Border on the photograph. Photo can be taken with any camera, i.e DSLR, SLR, Mirrorless, Compact, Smartphone, etc... .

Winner: Pink tone petals
Nature in One Colour Challenge finished on Saturday, 17 Jan 2015 In this FULL COLOUR challenge, show us pictures in nature where the subject is in monochrome, that is, in different shades or tones of a SINGLE colour. NO entries in black & white only, or sepia. You may enter photos of any colour, for example green, but the whole picture must be in shades of green. Ditto white, yellow, pink, red.... See my examples below. Macro and close-ups welcome. Please, let nature show us the colour, don't de-saturate or use excessive post-programming to produce the single colour. I will disqualify plain blue skies, because that's just too easy. 1,600px MAXIMUM on the entry's longer side.
