Street Photography Challenge finished on Saturday, 25 Apr 2009 We're looking for photography where the photographer is merely an unnoticed observer taking photographs of people in places and/or situations showing the human condition, without the subjects posing or being aware they are being photographed. Among my favorites photographers known for this genre are Willy Ronis and Henri Cartier-Bresson.

Half eaten fruit Challenge finished on Tuesday, 21 Apr 2009 Ever gotten half way through a piece of fruit and though, hay this would make a great photograph? Well here is your chance. Take a picture of a piece or pieces of fruit that have been half eaten, or cut up ready to eat.
Winner: Cycle of life
In the red Challenge finished on Monday, 20 Apr 2009 A simple theme, let's see pictures where the only strong colour is red. But red must be the natural colour of your subject - no filters, gels or colour swapping allowed, and no toning or selective colouration either. Also, images must be shot after the announcement of the challenge.
Winner: my hercules
Show off your ride Challenge finished on Monday, 20 Apr 2009 Show off your favorite mode of transportation, make it flashy! This should be easy if you own a nice boat, motorcycle or spaceship, but it's even better if you manage to make your battered bicycle or your oldest shoes look like a rapper's pimpmobile.
Smiling Challenge finished on Monday, 20 Apr 2009 A smile costs nothing but gives much. It enriches those who receive without making poorer those who give. It takes but a moment, but the memory of it sometimes lasts forever.
Winner: Östergötland, Sweden
This is my home Challenge finished on Monday, 20 Apr 2009 Where you live, inside, outside
Winner: Lost door
Recording Memories Challenge finished on Sunday, 19 Apr 2009 We all have a special possession that reminds us of something or someone, or that evokes a particular period of our lives. Choose a person other than yourself, and portray him or her with an object that tells us a story. There are no restrictions about type of camera, but post-production must be kept to a minimum. It is important that the words you use give strength to your work rather than narrow its meaning. Thus, the title should be minimal and only descriptive, just the name of the person--and what the object is, if you wish. But as part of the challenge, I strongly encourage you to use your poetic talents in the description or notes, where you can speak more about the person, the object, and their stories.
Winner: Too many choices?
Failures of Design Challenge finished on Saturday, 18 Apr 2009 Sometimes, despite the best of intentions, man-made creations either don't do what they're supposed to or conflict with other objects and/or their environments in such ways that we can't help but shake our heads. I'm specifically looking for examples of counter-productive human creations here, no poking fun at the natural world itself. Bear in mind that some designs are elegant yet unintuitive, so be careful when pointing the finger.
