SOOC perfection

Challenge #22 in the Thursday series. Hosted by Crappysnaps.

Challenge has finished

Stunning images that show your best natural lit scene or subject without the need for post-processing. I want the challenge to be about the ability to capture your vision at the time of pressing the shutter button, without additional processing after the shutter is pressed. Use of the in-camera tools are very welcome, providing it is done before the shot is taken.

Submissions:

Thursday, 13th October, 2022 – Wednesday, 19th October, 2022 (GMT)

Voting:

Thursday, 20th October, 2022 – Wednesday, 26th October, 2022 (GMT)

Processing rules:

Pre-processing (in-camera) BEFORE the shot is taken is only allowed.
Post processing or cropping AFTER the shot is taken (in-camera, phone, tablet, laptop or PC) is NOT allowed.
Resizing for the purpose of uploading a reasonable sized challenge entry is perfectly OK.
Shooting RAW, then converting to JPG is perfectly OK.

Capture date rules:

No restrictions.

I shall reject (without explanation) all images that I believe are against my title, theme and processing rules.

Not sure how you process raw data into a jpeg prior to taking the photo, but whatever.

I see what you did, you reeled me in to slay me. Very snitty of you.

I'm pulling the plug on this challenge and forum, too many like you on it.

@Crappysnaps I have a rule about discourteous behaviour being an automatic disqualification, and to be honest I'd block this account too. Plenty of forums this person can have display their attitude on, but not on my challenge (and not on yours either).

So it will only be jpegs as produced by the equipment? Not RAW files converted to jpegs by any means??

Good point... I'll add a processing rule allowing RAW to be converted to JPG.

That kind of defeats the challenge doesn't it. Any raw to jpeg conversion is after the time of shot, and different results depending on what conversion and what it's settings are. That's ok though it's your challenge. At least now I know this.

I set this challenge because I noticed there are very few at the moment, I thought I was helping those that like to participate, but hey you know best.

Maybe you should clarify that in-camera post-processing of all kinds (HDR, composites, focus-stacking, analog film emulation, digital NDF, etc) are not welcome.
And that all pre-snap exposure adjustments (color balance, sharpening, saturation, high key, low key, etc) are allowed.
Sorry if this sounds too picky. My feeling is that SOOC is a slippery concept for modern cameras.
Feel free to ignore me. You probably would prefer to keep the rules simple, and just reject any images you feel violate the spirit of the challenge.

Thanks for your input.
I understand your concern, and you're not being picky. It actually helps me create a clearer challenge.
I do prefer to keep it simple and short because I think that the more I write in the theme and rules the less will get read. However, a little more 'to the point' info, as you pointed out, is needed.
I'll update my rules a little to reflect your post.
