Shades of Violet or Mauve in Nature

Challenge #239 in the Life in the Natural World series. Hosted by RuthC.
Challenge has finished
Mauve, violet, lavender or lilac are all muted, soft and pleasing colours in nature's palette. This challenge invites you to show us examples of this delicate colour which is more subtle than the bright attention-seeking purples, reds, deep blues, or magentas. Your entries might well be flowers such as jacarandas, lilacs, lavender, violets, perhaps birds or insects, or landscapes which appear to be mauve or violet just before sunrise or after sunset. Man-made structures should be minimal. Please no humans, domestic pets or birds deprived of their freedom. Macro and close-ups welcome. Size of entry: 1,600 pixels on its longer side.
