This nature challenge invites your interesting pictures of these ancient forms of plant life. Though they aren't related, it is sometimes difficult to tell the difference between cycads and palms. Cycads, (Cycadophyta family) have been on this earth at least 280 million years, while the palms (Arecaceae family) have been growing a mere 80 millions years. No pictures of ferns please which are plants in the Pteridophyta family, with stems, leaves, roots, and which reproduces via spores. Minimal evidence of humans, pets or man-made structures in your entry please. Macro and close-ups welcome. Size of your entry: 1,600 pixels on the longer side.
