Fern Fronds

Challenge #238 in the Life in the Natural World series. Hosted by RuthC.
Challenge has finished
In this challenge, show us the beauty of ferns: just-unfurling fronds, small fern plants or large tree ferns. A fern is a plant in the Pteridophyta family, with stems, leaves, roots, and it reproduces via spores. It has no seeds or flowers. NO photos of palms or cycads because they are not related to ferns. The ferns (unless grown as a house-plant or in a glasshouse) should be outside in their natural environment. Macro and close-up shots welcome. SIZE: 1,600px MAXIMUM ON LONGER SIDE.
