Challenge has finished
This is the last of five challenges concerning the five senses: sight, touch, sound, taste and smell. All the challenges are nature-based. This challenge is showcasing SOUND, or HEARING. Show us ears which assists hearing in animals, birds, or reptiles, or the sensory parts of insects or spiders which assists them to be aware of their surroundings. Alternatively, show us those subjects in nature suggesting sound: rustling leaves on trees, surf breaking on shingle beaches, water tumbling over rocks, insects buzzing around, the beating of birds' wings, the thunder of horses' hooves, the crackling of a log fire. Your image should convey the sounds to the viewers. No humans' ears or those of domestic pets please in your entry. Macro and close-ups welcome. Size: 1,600px on the longer side of your entry.
