The Sense of Taste (Nature)

Challenge #154 in the Life in the Natural World series. Hosted by RuthC.
Challenge has finished
This is the fourth of five challenges concerning the five senses: sight, touch, sound, taste and smell. All the challenges are nature-based. This challenge is showcasing TASTE. Show us the mouths and tongues which assists tasting and eating, in animals, birds, or reptiles, or the mouth-parts and proboscises of insects, as they obtain their food etc. Alternatively, show us those things in nature suggesting taste, in plants, fruit, flowers, animals or fish. Your entry can represent something beautiful and enticing, or something which tastes awful. No humans' tongues, mouths, or those of domestic pets please in your entry. No cooked or prepared foods will be accepted; think of more 'natural' foods still in their raw state. Macro and close-ups welcome. Size: 1,600px on the longer side of your entry.
