Dale Gass, ex-President of Pantellic Software (who bought back and ran PhotoPoint at the time of its demise) has given an interview to CNET. To quote Mr Gass, "Again, I think people underestimate the cost of keeping a site like PhotoPoint running. We see a lot of comments along the lines of: "They could have kept it up a week to let us get our photos." Unfortunately, that extra week represents tens of thousands of dollars in lease, bandwidth, salary, and so on that couldn't have been paid. It's not just a matter of leaving the server on."
