The Lumia 625 will ship in the fall and will retail in Europe for €220.

Nokia is hoping that size does matter with its new Lumia 625. The latest in the Windows Phone 8-running Nokia phones, the Lumia 625 is being advertised as the "hero of the big screen."

In reality, 4.7-inch phone is only slightly bigger than the recently announced 4.5-inch Lumia 1020 and is  smaller than Samsung's 5-inch Galaxy S4.

Retailing for €220 in the fall, the Lumia 625 does not seem to be aiming for the same market as the pricier Lumia 1020. There is no indication in the press release that the Lumia 625 will even be available in the U.S.

Compared to the Lumia 1020's massive 41-megapixel camera, the Nokia Lumia 625 has a disappointing 5MP. Instead of bragging about the hardware, Nokia is promoting its Smart Camera software — tools launched earlier this year with the decidedly not-PureView Lumia 925.
