Garnering more than a quarter of the total votes cast in our poll for best lens, the Sigma 18-35mm is was convincing winner in this category, and one that attracted a lot of praise from you. A technical tour-de-force, the 18-35mm F1.8 is fast, sharp and affordable, offering APS-C photographers a viable alternative to the kind of bright-aperture standard zooms that have been available to full-frame shooters for a while.

A runaway winner in this category, the OM-D E-M1 is the best-specified Micro Four Thirds camera we've ever seen, and arguably one of the most 'serious' products of its type yet produced. Boasting full support for legacy Four Thirds lenses as well as the newer Micro Four Thirds standard, the E-M1 is as much about ensuring backwards compatibility as it is about looking to the future. With 34.1% of the total vote, the E-M1 won your hearts, and deservedly so.

Your vote for best fixed-lens compact camera of 2013 went overwhelmingly to Fujifilm's X100S. With almost half of the total number of votes, the X100S was a clear winner, and it's obvious that one of our favorite cameras of 2013 was a hit with you, too. We love the X100S for its sharp, 35mm equivalent lens, super-quiet shutter and excellent dynamic range and color. Those factors combined made it one of our 'go to' cameras for candid, street and portrait photography.

After voting for the five product categories had closed we created a sixth and final poll to find out which of the winning products was your choice for overall best of 2013. The final poll was a pretty tight race between the Fujifilm X100S, Pentax K-3 and Olympus OM-D E-M1, but the E-M1 just edged out its two closest competitors, garnering 32.8% of the vote. The X100S and K-3 were almost too close to call, garnering 19.9% and 20.6% of the total vote respectively.
\n
The E-M1 is one of the most enthusiast-oriented mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras that we've ever seen, and offers excellent performance in a relatively small package while sitting at the middle of an impressive Micro Four Thirds ecosystem of established lenses and accessories. It faces stiff competition in the coming months though, from Fujifilm's recently-announced X-T1 and potentially also a forthcoming high-end Panasonic GH3 replacement. And that's just in the mirrorless sector. Could we also see replacements for Nikon's venerable D300S this year? Or Canon's EOS 7D? It's fun to speculate, but whatever happens, 2014 looks set to be a pretty exciting year for high-end products and we'll be right there to write about them.
\n
Thanks, as always, for being a part of it!

Best Gear of 2013: The results are in!
Before Christmas, we asked you to vote for your favorite gear in five categories. Best lens, best DSLR / SLT, best fixed-lens compact camera, best mirrorless interchangeable lens camera and best enthusiast zoom compact. With almost 30,000 votes cast we announced the category winners earlier this year and created a final poll to find what - in your opinion - was the single standout product of 2013. That poll ran through January and has now closed.
So without further ado, click through for a reminder of the category winners and to find out which of the winning products was your choice for 2013 product of the year!

After a rare Seattle snowstorm finally subsided, DPReview editor Jeff Keller was able to escape the snow and spend some time with the impressive Fujifilm X-T30, a camera that offers a lot of bang for the buck.
The EF-M 32mm F1.4 is a welcome addition to Canon's APS-C mirrorless lens lineup. It's a good performer all-around and enjoyable to use on the EOS M50, and we hope to see more like it introduced to the EF-M range.
We don't often get excited about $900 cameras, but the Fujifilm X-T30 has really impressed us thus far. Find out what's new, what it's like to use and how it compares to its peers in our review in progress.
The S1 and S1R are Panasonic's first full-frame mirrorless cameras so there's a plenty to talk about. We've taken a look at the design and features of both cameras and have some initial impressions, as well.
We reviewed three of the more popular 'pocket printers,' the Canon Ivy, Fujifilm Instax Share and Polaroid ZIP. Here's the one we recommend...
Following testing of the Panasonic Lumix DC-LX100 II, we've added it to our Pocketable Enthusiast Compact Cameras buying guide as joint-winner, alongside Sony's Cyber-shot RX100 VA.
