Check out that lens: Zeiss ZX1 studio scene uploaded
We're continuing to work through our Zeiss ZX1 review, and have just finalized the studio scene images – here they are! While we're less impressed with the camera's JPEG engine, we have to say, in Raw mode, that 35mm F2 lens really shines. Check out the chart's far corners to see how it compares against other fixed-lens, large sensor cameras.
But regarding the JPEG images, after multiple attempts, what you see here was the best white balance we could get the custom white balance function to give. And, since the camera lacks the option to manually adjust the green/magenta 'tint' axis, we had no way of improving on it. This isn't an issue if you process the DNGs in-camera, of course, as Lightroom provides much more subtle correction tools.
Stay tuned for some more ZX1 review content, coming shortly.

More than two years after first showing off the camera, the Zeiss ZX1 is here. It features a 37.4MP full-frame sensor, a Zeiss Distagon 35mm F2 T* lens and has a variation of Android built-in that's capable of running Lightroom Mobile for editing your images directly in-camera.
Zeiss Senior Product Manager Elliot Shih sat down with us at CP+ to talk about the company's first camera to launch in more than a decade.
The Zeiss ZX1 was one of the great surprises of Photokina 2018: a full-frame, Android-based compact with a 35mm F2 lens. We got a chance to play with a pre-production example at CP+ and found something unlike any particular camera we've encountered before.
The Panasonic Lumix S5II launched the second generation of Panasonic’s full-frame mirrorless camera system and was the first Panasonic to feature phase detect autofocus. As our review reveals, it’s a heck of an all-around camera for both still and video shooters.
The latest Lumix puts a Four Thirds sensor in a full-frame body with boosted AF and a wealth of stills and video capabilities to create a Swiss Army Knife of a Micro Four Thirds camera.
The fourth camera in Leica's SL series of full-frame mirrorless cameras sees the 60MP BSI sensor from the Q3 and M11 models arrive with a significant interface redesign.
The Fujifilm X100VI is the sixth iteration of Fujifilm's classically-styled large sensor compact. A 40MP X-Trans sensor, in-body stabilization and 6.2K video are among the updates.
The Nikon Zf is a 24MP full-frame mirrorless camera with classic looks that brings significant improvements to Nikon's mid-price cameras. We just shot a sample reel to get a better feel for its video features and have added our impressions to the review.

'What's the best mirrorless camera?' We're glad you asked.
Above $2500 cameras tend to become increasingly specialized, making it difficult to select a 'best' option. We case our eye over the options costing more than $2500 but less than $4000, to find the best all-rounder.
