An update released for GoPro’s iOS and Android apps this week make them compatible with Hero3 cameras. The Android version, released earlier this year, also includes an update to fix unreliable video preview support on some devices.

The GoPro app is designed to work as a viewfinder and remote control of camera settings for GoPro’s tiny HD cameras. The app only works with the newer Hero2 and Hero3 cameras because it requires WiFi to connect to the device remotely.

Users of the free GoPro app can also use it to view GoPro’s photo and video of the day as well to keep in touch with the “latest radness” from the extreme camera maker.
