I
have just posted a gallery of 27 sample images from a production Minolta
DiMAGE A1. This is in advance of completing our full review which should
be up within the next three weeks. I have to say that I was surprised
at how well the DiMAGE A1 performed, it's clearly a step ahead of the
DiMAGE 7Hi in terms of image quality and is most certainly in the running
to be labelled the best five megapixel prosumer digital camera. Resolution,
sharpness, tonal balance (with good dynamic range) and color response
are all improved. Add to this the A1's unique image stabilzation which
allows you to shoot at much slower shutter speeds and the A1 is a very
impressive 'all in one' package.
Minolta DiMAGE A1 Samples Gallery
There are 27 images in the samples gallery. Please do not reproduce any of these images on a website or any newsletter / magazine without prior permission (see our copyright page). I make the originals available for private users to download to their own machines for personal examination or printing (in conjunction with this review), I do so in good faith, don't abuse it.
Unless otherwise noted images taken with no particular settings at 2560 x 1920 (Fine or Extra-Fine JPEG). Images downsampled to fit into 1024 x 1024 bounds to fit in your browser, as always the original untouched image is available by clicking on a link below the reduced image.
Note that some images were taken in the Adobe RGB color space, these are labelled 'Adobe RGB' above the image and carry the suffix of '-a', the smaller image has been converted from Adobe RGB to sRGB, the original image is Adobe RGB (straight from the camera).
