Sony Nexus X was a hoax, prankster dissects how it was done on Tumblr
The 'leaked' images of the Sony Nexus X and all the media fanfare that followed was a hoax started simply with a Picassa account and some faked images, says Ti Kawamoto, who posted a graphic timeline of the entire hoax on Tumblr earlier this week. In graphic detail, Kawamoto shares exactly how he created the faked images from a 3D rendering which spawned 521 news articles just over a day later.
Though the Tumblr posts are unattributed, Gizmodo has now published the entire post under the name Ti Kawamoto. If Google searches are landing on the right guy, Kawamoto is a set and art director from the Burlington, Vermont area.
