Smartphone cameras might have replaced consumer grade digital compact cameras as the common snapshooter's imaging tool of choice, but with the right kind of accessories, such as the Beastgrip Pro, they can become a viable alternative even for imaging professionals.

The Bestgrip Pro is a new and improved version of the original Beastgrip, which started life as a Kickstarter project in 2013, and is a modular and therefore highly customizable camera rig and lens adapter for your smartphone. Thanks to its adjustable clamps it works with devices of virtually all sizes, no matter if iOS, Android or Windows Phone.

Taking advantage of its modular design the Beastgrip Pro can serve a wide range of purposes. It can be used as a simple tripod adapter for your phone but adding one or more grips, lens and filter mounts, cold shoe mounts and additional tripod mounts turns it into a fully fledged camera-rig that you can attach lighting equipment and DSLR lenses to.

The latter can be used with a new DoF adapter that allows you capture images with shallow depth of field and a range of conversion lenses. The Beastgrip Pro is envisaged to launch in August 2015 but you can already secure one now by backing the Kickstarter project at the $70-level. The Beastgrip Pro has already reached its $50,000 funding goal.
