Sony announced three new FE mount primes yesterday, including a 28 f/2, a 35mm f/1.4 and a 90mm f/2.8 macro. We got our hands on the Zeiss Distagon T* FE 35mm f/1.4 and spent some time shooting with it around Seattle. It features a 9-blade circular aperture and a Direct Drive SSM focus system. It also offers a unique switch on the lens barrel that lets users toggle whether or not the aperture ring is stepless. It's a beefy lens, measuring nearly 12cm in length and weighing 630g. We shot with it on a Sony a7 II and a Sony a7R.
