My thoughts exactly.

They have a whole section for "On top" and they omitted possibly the most important thing. Canon saved a few cents by removing the center pin and broke comparability with all manual flash systems.

But even though it's not really 700 years old or 1/2 the size or 1/2 the price like all good comedy there is enough truth and he's making it's a good point. The SL3 killer is the M50. All the SL3 gets you over the M50 is a bulky less capable camera.

It gives you a camera with up to double the battery life, better ergonomics and the ability to use cheap EF or EFS lenses without needing an adapter. The M line may be a dead end.

If I’d be looking for a Canon DSLR Id get an old 6D that can be found for about $500 in a good shape these days . Also , older APSC Nikons have much better SONY sensors and can be found for much less.

It's usually safe to get used gear from a reliable supplier with a good history and a good guarantee.

They're good for casual shooters. Really small and really light, but still getting DSLR AF quality. Yes, limited AF Point coverage, but TBT, most of my shooting is done with Center Point, and I expect many or most shoot this way most of the time. I even bring along my D3300 when I'm just shooting for fun or subjects/scenes that can be shot in Aperture Priority with pretty much fixed settings. Great image quality in a super-transportable package with an 18-55mm or 35mm f1.8G DX.

Primary gear? No way for anyone advanced or above. For beginners and snapshooters, these little DSLRs are beyond awesome and create results WELL beyond what's necessary for that level. This kind of gear has the biggest bang-for-buck in photography IMO.

lol. Isn't the 6D famous because it only has one really good focus point? Plus used it's still twice as much as the Sl3 and AF in video is terrible. And face tracking and eye AF (the SL3 has both) is non exisitent.

Lol, and i just bought a lilac-colored phone. 😆 BUT that color wasn't by choice. It was a sweet open-box deal on a maxed-out Galaxy Note9 that i couldn't resist. I was like "Lol, good thing i always put Otterbox cases on my phones!"

I'm bored bored bored with black cameras! Good on Canon for making a white one. Back in the day I went back and forth with Nikon, straight-up argued with them, for a couple of weeks trying to convince them to make a candy red D7200 for me. I even told them I'd pay them a few hundred extra dollars and wait for it as long as it would take then to make it. Nope! And i know Nikon makes colored cameras. I have a candy red D5300. But i want ALL my cameras in non-black...

Everything comes in colors. Phones, cars, houses, and even cameras. Just not higher-end cameras. Even Ferraris which could fairly be expected to only come in Corsa Red come in several colors.

It goes beyond fashion or taste though. Simple things like identification would be easier; Joe's camera is red, Amy's is white. Or my red camera is setup for action, my green for landscape and my blue for portraits, etc.

But the bottom line is that black is boring. And an absolutely snobby arbitrary restriction. Vive la difference!🙂

I practiced on an old D70. The teardown didn't go so well and that wound up costing me that D70. Oh well, no non-factory paint jobs for me after that, lol! 🤪

Plus for a while, Nikon made a maroon/reddish D3300 (or maybe it was a D3200). Don't think it was a big seller so I think they stopped doing that... But the one color scheme I like (aside form complete black) would have to be the Fuji and Olympus with the silver and black like their old film cameras.

I have an SL1. Love it. BUT small buffer and so so centre AF point using OVF in low light (I think only rated to -0.5 ev)

I wonder if the SL3 centre AF point will be improved for lower light?

I skipped on the SL2 as the OVF is tunnel like compared to the SL1. The SL1 OVF is closer to the lens mount meaning it looks wider even tho same spec and also looks closer, giving no tunnel effect.

I wonder if the SL3 VF will be like the SL1 or the SL2?

If it has better centre AF point and OVF i would by the SL3 due to battery life and the better sensor low light IQ and new processor.

If not my 'upgrade' will be the 80d due to battery life, large VF and AF point rated down to -3 EV plus excellent buffer and the improved low light IQ...

I only use OVF not LV and only centre point AF, so no need for flashy gear, but the poor buffer of the SL1 lets me down at times and the AF point sometimes is so so in very low light. ISO 6400 on the SL3 should also be like ISO 3200 on the SL1...?

I have the SL2, after selling off T7i (800D), no regrets. Center AF pt. is faster and more accurate than the 800D and has the same low light sensitivity in practice.

I miss only the 24 raw buffer from the 800D.

I would be going for SL3 as a back up for:
1. Continuous Eye AF in LV : I own 50mm f1.8, 85 f1.8 and will be adding 35/24 f1.4.
2. 10 14-bit raws & appx. 37 C-RAW buffer, which is huge!
3. -4ev Low light sensitivity AF with f1.2 lenses, that'll be about -3ev or -2ev sensitivity with f2 lenses, which is awesome.
4. 1600+ shots on single charge for non Live-view is great for hiking.
5. Gordon Lang's v-log test with kit shows that the 1080p out of 250D is excellent/top notch!

6. IQ of 200D is the best in Canon's APS-C lineup (when pixel peeping and splitting hairs), 250D will be the same or better.

I have a suggestion for Canon's next iteration, the SL4. Include a hybrid viewfinder (OVF+EVF) and let the user chooses what he/she wants to use. With the OVF, you'll save power by using it as a DSLR which means you can shoot almost all day with one battery. With the EVF, you'll have an M50 with all the DPAF features including the eye AF. I believe Canon already filed for this hybrid viewfinder patent, but they went with the M-line and R/RP-line of mirrorless bodies instead. With a huge catalog of EF and EF-S lenses, a hybrid viewfinder body would preserve the declining DSLR market, IMHO. I have an SL2 and would definitely jump on this SL4 with the hybrid viewfinder.

captura - Not quite the same thing. The Fujifilm OVF is basically just a "brightline" OVF and is off-axis. The OVF on a DSLR sees exactly what the lens sees, with *any* focal length from ultra-wide to macro to ultra telephoto. The Fujifilm OVF can't compete with that, although it is a worthy machine for street photography.

captura - Yes I'm sure you are right, I'm not slamming Fujifilm in any way, and it may be what bluedevil is looking for.

Personally I'd like a different type of hybrid viewfinder, i.e. a DSLR-type OVF, but with an electronic overlay, or a switchable EVF.

The AF point overlay in DSLRs is a simple form of hybrid viewfinder, but I'd also like to see an option to switch the mirror out of the way and have the live-view image displayed in the viewfinder as well as on the rear screen. Then we'd have the best of both worlds.

So why not give the option to view what's on the backscreen on the viewfinder? But when you want to save power or for general stills that don't require tracking, the regular OVF should be just fine. Best of both worlds, as entoman mentioned.

With plummeting DSLR sales, I think that ship has sailed. It won't happen. The closest thing to getting a FF SL body is the EOS RP:

If it weren't for the fact that the EOS RP is 10mm wider (left to right across the body), the RP would be smaller than the SL. The RP is already thinner and shorter than the SL. As it is, the RP is already lighter than the SL (440g vs 451g). So with the EOS RP, there's no need for a FF SL, especially in today's market.

Well, non-black cameras tend to "disarm" people. The public generally doesn't take colorful cameras seriously.Though colors are actually more conspicuous, colored cameras are mentally dismissed. That means you don't draw public paranoia over where you point that red, purple... or white camera. True story. :)

Besides, digital cameras don't age well anyway. All cameras are obsolete in 2 or 3 years anyway. Not that they're not still perfectly fantastic, but they depreciate wicked-fast. I hypothesize that colorful cameras will hold their value better than black because they'll be the rarity in a sea of their black clones on craigslist. I recently saw a red D3300 on craigslist. 2 black ones also. I already have a black D3300 and was tempted to get the red one and let the black one go. I procrastinated and it sold fast. 1 of the black ones sold about 2 weeks later, and when I checked about a week ago (about 2 months after the 3rd black one came on) that last black one was still there... :)

Honestly, they do change the feel of the camera. I mean, obviously, but you have to feel it to know what I mean. Sometimes I like it, sometimes I don't. The most notable thing is that it'll narrow the space between the grip and lens mount, and that may be an issue depending on what camera, and the user's preference. It makes that grip-mount gap too tight and exacerbates the problem of Fn1 and Fn2 placement on the D7500. Sucks, but the D7500's grip rubber is so slippery that it's a genuine liability and major risk factor so I gotta use the skin. Bah... :(

However, the M50 is 90% the same as an SL3, and offers some advantages. And the older M5 can be found for as low as $400. It offers more controls.
I expect that both the SL and the M lines may be dead-ended, soon. Canon is not putting a lot into APS-C these days, perhaps following the lead of Sony.

SL / M as dead end "street": Technically I think they are so I do not expect some glorious lenses like the EF-M 32 - but I think at least the M system will stay for a while, e.g. 10...15 years as compact consumer alternative with some EF-M lenses optimized for small footprint. And at least one semi pro model for those who need a compact semi pro camera e.g. with EF-M 32 or some smaller EF(-S) lenses. The EF-S 60 macro works very well and is reasonably compact/light with the M50 - that lens convinced me to go to digital ILCs in 2005 with the EOS 20D and it still surprices me in versatility and IQ.

Why only 5 fps burst rate when the M50 can do 10 fps? I understand the SL2 only having 5 fps because that was Digic 7, but the SL3 is Digic 8 and no increase in burst rate? Doesn't make sense.

It's a matter of (mechanical) mirror speed - you have to move masses and increasing the speed means strengthening the mirror etc. + engaging stronger motors/actors to move the mirror.
From F = m v² / r it is obvious that doubling the mirror's speed means 4 times the forces!

Good remark - maybe it is a matter of the shutter: The shutter (speed) of 200D is maybe aligned with the mirror speed while they were able to use a fast shutter for the M50 which does not match mirror movements in any way.

So it might be a result of general optimization of size and cost: If the M50 shutter is 30 EUR more expensive and needs development costs of 10000 EUR to be integrated into the 200D it is maybe not the right decision marketing wise. + Using a sports lens with TFT display as viewfinder sounds strange to me - and this is the situation where you need speed.

FPS is the "new MP". It's marketing and has nothing to do with necessity. Truly few people need more than 12MP, yet even phones (with their tiny sensors) have 16MP or even higher. Same with PNS cameras and bridge cameras. Few will ever make 24-inch x 32-inch prints from their phone or PNS or bridge camera. They'd be WAY better served by an 8MP sensor with substantially better high ISO performance. But no...

Mirrorless manufacturers are locked in this excessively-high fps battle. Because, yes I'll say it, generally-speaking mirrorless fans are WAY more concerned with spec sheets than they are true photographic efficiency characteristics like ergonomics. Mirrorless is all about tiny and light with high FPS at the moment. Bigger with better ergos gets you more and better pictures though. The D7500 gets 8fps, and the D5 "only" gets 12fps. Anyone think the M50 with its 7.4fps (per Canon's site) will even begin to approach the D7500 for capturing sports/action? No way.

5fps is plenty... :)

Then AF should be your primary concern. Even the a9 doesn't hold up to good DSLRs in that respect. You'll see reviews and Sony fanb0ys screaming otherwise but it's untrue. Otherwise sports pros would be shooting Sony, instead of all but dismissing Sony.

I shoot surfing and live shows and i rarely shoot at over 7fps. I just don't find it necessary. Granted, i have decades of shooting action and a lot of it comes down to reading the action and anticipating the right moment. TBT, I often shoot action in Single frame advance mode but sometimes stab the shutter 3 or 4 times in a sequence though.

DSLR Live View AF is totally worthless. If you want to stay in the $500ish range for a body, get a used D7200 (sorry, I primarily shoot Nikon so that's where I REALLY know the ins and outs). If you can spring a little more, a used D7500. A little more, a used D500 or 7D. They will smoke mirrorless for action, with the caveat that the D7200 has only a 12-frame RAW buffer. More for jpeg.

@Sir 7: AF is actually of no concern in the situation I am describing - a batsman in a stationery position hitting a ball. If you are not familiar with cricket, think of a batter hitting a ball in a game of baseball.

A major reason I'm looking at mirrorless more than DSLR is that video is just as important to be as stills. I was interested in the SL3 mainly because of the affordable EF-S STM Canon lenses, but the 55-250mm STM will only give me 400mm equivalent, and I've worked out that I really need 600-800mm ideally.

I've concluded that my best option would be the RX10 IV, but it's costly and I would rather go for an interchangeable lens camera because it would allow be to use a prime in low light.

So that's the dilemma I'm in. I'd like a big sensor so I can use a fast prime for low light, but long lenses on big sensors are big and expensive.

Sorry I've gone rather off-topic, but if you have any advice I'd appreciate your comments.

Well, there's kind of a lot going on in your needs. An unfortunate (though super-common) disconnect of yours is the need for a sports machine... that's relatively inexpensive. By relative I mean that a true sports machine would be something like a D5 with 600mm f4 that would cost around $16,400 new, maybe $11,000ish used. Obviously, even beginning to approach that caliber for 6% of the new price is a big ask.

That said, you can do quite well for around $1,000. I think your choice of an RX10M4 is an excellent one. I will say that I'm not impressed with its AF compared to DSLRs for action, as in someone moving a lot and/or quickly. A mostly-stationary subject that's not too large in the finder and with decent DOF (Depth-Of-Field) as with the M4 in broad daylight shouldn't pose much of a challenge for the M4 once it knows your subject. You could probably find a used RX10M4 for $1,000 if you keep checking craigslist or gamble on eBay.. Continued...

Although DSLRs are rightly not known for their Live View stills or video AF prowess, for such a situation as above most DSLRs should perform video adequately. But the OVF (Optical Viewfinder) AF will be a lot better with a DSLR.

You can find a used D7200 for $500-$600 and a used 200mm-500mm (300mm-750mm equiv.) f5.6E Nikkor for $1,000. For $1,550ish you'd have a solid sports rig! The limitation is a relatively small buffer of about 12-frames at full-rez (14-bit Lossless Compressed). I believe the D7200 is rated at 18-frames at full-rez but if memory serves, I got 12-frames. If you drop to 14-bit Compressed (as opposed to the slightly superior but larger Lossless Compressed) you'll get about 50% more buffer. 12-bit Compressed should double your buffer from that at full-rez. If you go to Large Fine jpeg, you'll likely get 100-frames of buffer.

No doubt, the Nikon setup will get you better stills. Video *may* be better with the Sony, but with shorter lens reach of 600mm equiv.

Oh yeah, and the D7200 has a superb sensor, and the Nikkor 200mm-500mm f5.6E is a superb lens. Image Quality with this combo is truly exceptional. If you're not happy with this IQ, you better be selling photos to ESPN or something, lol! ;)

@Sir 7: Thanks for your comments. I have come to realise that my requirements are pulling in opposite directions, so I have to make some compromise. I'd like a big sensor for better low light performance, but then if I also want a long lens that would be big and expensive.

It's not a genuine sports photography I'm doing - photographing a cricket batsman standing still playing a shot doesn't require good AF. So if I go ILC, perhaps something in the M43 line like the Panasonic G85/95 and the 100-300mm would give me the reach I need, good video, and some affordable fast primes for low light.

Unfortunately the second hand market is very small where I am (New Zealand), so there's not much available if I want to buy used.

To your question: Yes.

Have juice, don't want to peep and get the best performance? Use Live View.
Need to conserve juice and operate a bit faster? Use OVF and mirror. You get 2-in-1 with this camera. :P

Exactly - the difference between M50 and just 200D is close to zero if you use the display. But this isn't possible in bright daylight or with longer telephoto lenses. And a problem if close focus capabilities of your eyes are more or less gone :)

Traditionally, the live view of DSLRs is absolutely terrible compared to true mirrorless cameras. Especially the AF is bad. It has to do with many things, for example the focus motors of the lenses. Recent models should be better and I believe dual-pixel AF should be fine with DSLR lenses.

I think it is difficult to find truly small lenses for this camera. Due to the long flange distance, the camera + lens combination cannot be very small even in theory. This is the opposite for mirrorless cameras.

I find it funny that when using viewfinder, PDAF is the only option, and it only works when using the viewfinder. DPAF can only be used when shooting stills in live view. When shooting video, the only option is CDAF. I would guess this can be a bit confusing for beginners.

All-in-all, for someone who wants a mirrorless camera, I would recommend buying a mirrorless camera.

SL3 works exactly the same way as mirroless M50 if in live view mode for both photo and video. CDAF limitation is only for 4K and it's the same for M50 - so it has nothing with DSLR or mirroless but only with bad implementation of this functionality.

Marty4650--as you well know, "where the market is going" does not de-legitimize the capacity to create either great memories or great art-- with the tech and optics which preceded it. The DSLR market has several hundreds of millions of great Canon EF, Nikon F&G, Sony A and Minolta A mount (still), in circulation. These lenses will be making great images 25 years from now. I started my photography career with film. Had you given me this little gem in 1981 and set it aside my Canon AE-1 Program and Canon Sureshot, I would have lit the incense and banged my head on the ground. I can see many folks being thrilled with the images this unit can produce. They don't shot raw and don't care about 4k. Those that do will buy something else.

Canon knows its volume market. They know how to give the minimum features for the target audience at the lowest possible price.

For anyone seriously considering this camera (not just for size) I would recommend skipping the kit lens and getting the Sigma 17-70|C. May be, Sigma will release it in silver-white! ;-)

The 24mm pancake will be a good "almost invisible" attachment if the idea is to keep it small.

The SL line has never sold that well because it is priced higher than Canon's other Rebels. The Rebel that sells "by the truckload" is the Rebel T6 which you can buy for $439 in a bundled kit with a ton of accessories:

$649 (street price) for an SL3 kit is too expensive for most Rebel buyers.

Regardless, DSLR sales are waaaay down. According to the latest CIPA stats:

> DSLRs: -36.9% in units and -44.2% in value
> mirrorless cameras: -9.5% in units and +7.9% in value

The days of DSLRs selling "by the truckload" are rapidly disappearing. And it's really only the bargain-basement dirt-cheap DSLRs (such as the Rebel T6) that are still selling (hence the huge -44.2% drop in DSLR value reported by CIPA).

Yes, DSLR sales are down...but mirrorless sales are down too, though by far less...but that means that mirrorless is not replacing dslr's...but that the entire camera market is shrinking. DSLR's are down more because as the larger market they had more to lose. Mirrorless is down but from a lower ceiling. And yes, Canon and Nikon's entry into FF mirrorless surely kept mirrorless numbers from falling further.

But really none of that matters if we are just talking about the SL3. But I will say this: Canon would not release an SL3 if the prior SL models did not sell well enough. Somehow I think the people at Canon know more about SL sales figures than you do.

Not yet. But it's an eventuality. Furthermore, we are going to see fewer resources being put into new DSLR introductions (because those resources are going to be sucked up by new mirrorless camera/lens introductions), which will drive the sale of DSLRs down even further. In fact, I think we are going to see the last of the new DSLR introductions coming this year or next. So it's a downward spiral for DSLRs: plummeting DSLR sales warrant fewer resources being put into new DSLRs, fewer/weaker new DSLR releases leads to plummeting DSLR sales. It becomes a self-perpetuating feedback loop, spiraling downward.

@T3: What I mean is that the decline in DSLR sales is not matched by a similar increase in mirrorless sales; hence the overall market is in decline. It's not like everyone with a DSLR is replacing it with a mirrorless; it's that many are opting only for smartphones.

Sure mirrorless is where the resources are headed; we see that with Canon and Nikon. But DSLR's will still be around for a while. But again, my main point is that the big problem is that the overall dedicated camera market is shrinking, and mirrorless is not reversing that trend.

I get it. They are like GM in the 1980s...churning out products that were light years behind what Japan was making. But....it did catch up to GM eventually and they had to improve their products or perish.

I just helped editing a pic for my nephew who has a a7III -- he took pics of lightning. I could simply not believe how I could push the shadow...forEVER....with zero noise. Wow! As a canon shooter--it would look like number 40 sandpaper had I done that.

Me too! I bought into the whole FF craze. They are great. But....THAT much better? Really? Carrying around a toaster oven sized camera doesn't change the dynamic with street photography?

I am seriously considering changing to Fuji (Xt20 or XT30). I really do not enjoy hauling around the FF size lenses. And truth be told, I really do not see such a leap in the quality of my pictures. Of course, I am not a professional and do not need that extra 1 percent of secret sauce.

(I also have an extra little SL1 I bought for my wife refurbished -- put a 24 f/2.8 on it....it works fine for a camera to throw in your pocket. But I do agree that this new offering appears somewhat underwhelming.)

The problem with Canon is this, when you buy a Volvo, or a Ferrari, you know it is going to be a better car than the other... but with Canon, their "cars" are like fiats Pandas... when they release a new camera you already know it is going to be worse than average... so where is the Canon excellence? There are Youtubers comparing Canon expensive line of cameras against cheaper cameras and they perform much worse... so what is the point of buying Canon? At least for video???? FIAT historically stands for "fix it again Tony". So although i do get your point, the analogy is not really fair, because Canon is an extremely reliable camera. :-) But I get what you are saying. Although, that being said, I am very happy with my 5d IV and still love my 70d (for full size DSLRs). The 70d takes great stills and video (for my purposes -- and only 1080). But I hear you. Compared to the competition, the specs are underwhelming. For example, on the 5d, the whole 4k crop thing -- Apparently it drives videographers crazy -- so why does Canon do it? I don't know. And the crop of the 4k in the SL3 is even higher. I wonder why they do that? IS there a reason technically? I think the SL3 is just an SL2 released to add 4k, isn't it?
I look at it this way (since I have invested in Canon). There may be better cameras out there, but my system is robust and reliable. And my cameras are better than what any professional had just a few years ago. But I hear you!

I shoot with a 5DIV. On a recent trip to Death Valley, I decided to take my litte SL1 for the heck of it. I ended up usuit a little bit paired with my 70-200 4L lens. I got some nice abstract images at 320 mm due to the cropped sensor that I would not have gotten otherwise. The SL1 was worth having and it weighs next to nothing. I guess my point is just because the camera is a really cheap DSLR, that doesn’t mean high quality photos can’t be gotten with it with a good lens and experienced photographer.

I saw a DigitalRev TV video a couple years back which really illustrated the point you're making. They used a cheap lens on an expensive body and an expensive lens on a cheap body. Not surprisingly the cheap body with the high quality lens made images that were far better quality than the expensive body crippled with a cheap lens. I agree with you, often these entry level cameras are overlooked and dismissed. They likely aren't going to take a beating and may not have the cutting edge autofocus system found on a flagship model, but in most cases they are far from being inadequate for making spectacular images if one puts a decent lens on them.

Canon is known for great reliability; something you don't see mentioned much in reviews. I get it; you can't really review a device over long term usage to review reliability, but it nevertheless is a hugely important factor.

What good is any device if it doesn't hold up over time?

One reason why most pro's use Canon is because they are reliable and any pro will take reliability over better tech specs any day.

Of all the Canon APS-C I have used (600D, 50D, 60D, 80D, 7D, 750D, 800D, 77D and 200D) 200D has the best IQ, exceeding 80D by a hair, when pixel peeping. So, with a newer processor, 250D will be a bit better if not equal to 200D, which means, with a good glass and skill, it's not something which can be taken lightly. Pack it with a rain cover and it's ready to go anywhere in most terrain with excellent usability with near zero camera weight. (And appx. 37 C-RAW buffer is a cream!)

With spending nearly nothing of R&D, Canon is able to maintain its level of "share of mind" or "brand awareness" and extend the SL2 product life cycle, triggering a few more sales, by releasing a product such as this SL3. Not just this camera, but a more recent camera in general. Many people look at the specs, buy it, and then still wonder why they don't like their photography. as Bill Fortney puts it in his videos and is very true: "It's not the camera. It's the photographer behind the camera." 95% of the time it's the photographer. I will say only in instances where there is a mechanical malfunction, such as malfunctioning AF or something, then we can maybe blame the camera for sot images as it may not be focusing, but for the rest, it's the photographer.

Plus, it doesn't matter what name is on your camera. As long as it does what you want, and is comfortable for you to hold, then it's a good camera for you. No sense in buying a camera with 50MP if you don't like the ergonomics or layout.

Many Canon cameras have a fully articulating LCD since the Canon G series in the 2000 era. But look at other companies, few models have such design. Anyone knows if this is the patent of Canon?

It is. Canon and Panasonic own the patents to both of the most common types of fully articulated screens. Sony own a third type which is more versatile, but also more complicated, used in high-end A-mount bodies. Fujifilm recently developed a new design that accomplishes mostly the same thing but with two hinges on perpendicular axes.

Yep, they have to pay for the license each time they use it. I think they employed Panasonic's design, though (anything is better than paying their main competitor, I guess 😬).

There’s rumors that Canon didn’t allow Panasonic to use the design in their new 35mm cameras, but I can’t find any substantiation of that. It would stand to reason, though, that Panasonic and Canon traded patents on a quid pro quo basis, and this allowed the former to use the FAS design all across their camera range.

Let's see how bad this Canon is. You want to have APS-C camera, right?
There are 223 cameras.

You want it to have a modern sensor with at least 18 MPix, right?
There are 86 cameras.

You want to be able to play with the screen?
There are 25 cameras.

You want it to be a Canon, Nikon or Sony?
There are 21 cameras

However, why 18 Mpx, when you can get 24?
There are only 15 cameras left!

This is same as Canon M50 (same parts but different shell) comes with OVF vs. EVF. OVF has 9 limited focus points. The lens is down graded to f4-5.6 and a gimmicky video resolution.
Canon knows the people who buy this cameras and offering them less and less with respect to time.
