Kodak licensee JK Imaging has introduced the PixPro SP360-4K camera, a variation of its PixPro SP360 Action Camera model that includes a 4K resolution option for still images and video. The camera comes with Windows and OS X-compatible software that transcribes recorded footage into YouTube's 360-degree video format.
The Kodak SP360-4K camera features a 12 megapixel BSI CMOS sensor and a dome-shaped F2.8 lens. Integrated Wi-Fi and NFC allow the camera to be used with the PixPro Android and iOS apps; the camera offers 10 viewing modes, including LiveView, Dome, and Panorama, and a motion detection feature. Content capturing options include a 4K still image burst mode and time-lapse video.
The 4K model - much like the original - supports more than a dozen attachments, including a suction mount with remote control and a waterproof housing. Kodak plans to sell the 4K model alongside 'varying bundles' that are tailored to specific regions, though it did not detail what the bundles will include.
The Kodak SP360-4K launches next month in Europe; pricing has not been stated. Availability outside of Europe is unknown.
