Instapuzzle for iOS makes Instagram a game

If just posting and viewing photos on Instagram wasn't enough fun for you, you can now download Instapuzzle for iOS to play games with you and your friend's photos. The free app turns Instagram photos into puzzles with varying degrees of difficulty and allows players to view hints to help finish the game. Players can keep track of high scores and compete against Insta-friends for the top spots. When you run out of allotted hints, you can earn more by solving hard puzzles or purchasing hints through the app.

Adobe acquires mobile app makers Thumb Labs

The makers of the Behance mobile app have officially joined Adobe. The software giant acquired the mobile app maker to go on a "united mission to empower the creative world." Behance —t he creative professional's answer to both Pinterest and LinkedIn — is an online platform to display and discover innovative work and connect with the content creators. Thumb Lab's sister app Creative Portfolio allows users to artfully display their work from their iOS devices. With the acquistion of Thumb Labs, we'll keep our fingers crossed for more mobile app development from Adobe.

Google Drive update has more elegant photo previews

The new Google Drive for Android includes a major improvement on file previewing. Instead of listing though file names, images can be seen in large previews on a black background and navigated via swipe gestures. You can also now download files to your device through the action menu on Drive. Android users can download the latest Google Drive app for free on Google Play.

Tell your photo's story with Pixengo

A new app for iOS allows users record audio and combine it with their photos. While the app functions similarly to SpeakingPhoto, it is free in the iOS App Store, (compared to SpeakingPhoto's $0.99/$2.99) and includes a social media element that is reminiscent to the Instagram/Vine/Flickr apps that dominate mobile media sharing. Instagram competitor Tadaa adds elaborate editing tools

Tadaa for iOS offers high definition, customizable photo editing tools on a social media platform. Keeping users inside the app, Tadaa allows users to apply one of 26 filters, adjust brightness, contrast and saturation, and apply customizable tilt-shift and bokeh effects, before posting the photos on Tadaa's social network. The app also offers a unique edge detection feature to blur backgrounds, which The Next Web recently looked at in detail.
