Vantage Point: The aviation photography of Jon Pece

Equine photography is an entirely different beast, so to speak. What is compelling about horses as a photographic subject to you?

When I'm not flying, I'm at home where we have four horses to ride in the county park across the street. I find just grooming my horses very relaxing.  It's absolutely the opposite of the chaos around the airports where I'm based, and I find this natural connection very refreshing. These very large animals have a natural grace, beauty, and energy in the organic form which is analogous to the inorganic grace and beauty of aviation. For anyone curious about equine photography techniques, I would recommend a visit to the site of my friend and mentor, Shelley Paulson.
