Nikon D810: What You Need to Know
New 'Clarity' slider in Picture Controls
Greater clarity is always welcome, and now in the D810 you can adjust 'clarity' for JPEGs taken using your chosen Picture Control mode. 'Clarity' is a bit of a misnomer (nothing gets more or less 'clear', really) but is easiest thought about in terms of 'punchiness'. Dialling in more clarity will make JPEGs from the D810 punchier and increase the contrast in midtones without causing halos around edges, or greatly accentuating noise.
