Well, that was quite a year for DPReview.com. If you're one of the many people who complained about our review output in the latter half of 2014 think on this: in the year to August 2014 we lost (for a variety of reasons) eight out of our ten-strong editorial team. Finding, hiring and training replacements was a great opportunity, but inevitably created some drag. The good news is that we now have the strongest, most talented team of camera, photography and video experts we've ever had, and you will see a significant uptick in reviews, videos and educational content in 2015.
But as I look back at what we achieved in 2014 it is with pride (and at times amazement at what a skeleton team can produce when you kidnap their loved ones). From high quality videos and live events to cool new features such as notifications and the revamped feature search to the ongoing efforts to improve our review processes, introduce new tests and get better, faster and smarter about how we help our readers choose the right camera for them, we never stop thinking about how we can make this little corner of the internet more useful, more relevant and, hopefully, more entertaining.
In 2015, now we have a full team again you're going to see more reviews coming in a more timely manner. You're going to see iOS and Android apps (hopefully next month). You're going to see more educational content, more videos, more live events and (yes, I know I said this last year), a new design for the site... Until then, we're taking a few days of well-earned rest, and will be back to full service in time for CES in the new year.
I'd like to personally thank all the editorial and web dev staff for the incredible hard work they've put in during 2014. These are people who live and breathe DPReview, who are obsessed with making it better and with getting it right. And I'd like to thank you, our audience, our community. Thanks for visiting, thanks for reading, thanks for contributing and thanks for keeping us honest with your no-holds-barred feedback.
Again, merry Christmas from us all. Without you, none of this would be possible.
