Nikon Japan has today announced that the D1H, the updated high-speed, large buffered version of the D1 will retail at 470,000 YEN (excluding taxes) and will go on sale (in Japan) on 25th July 2001. The D1H was first announced back in February as a high speed, lower resolution (2.74 mp) alternative to the D1x, the D1H can shoot 5 frames per second for up to 40 frames. This newly announced price appears to be considerably lower than the originally mentioned price (US$ 4,500) as it works out at approximately US$ 3,800 (excluding taxes).
UPDATE: Many thanks to Nikon Europe for passing on their pricing for the 'D1H Kit' (Body Only with Nikon View 4, FotoStation 4.5, D1H strap and translucent monitor cover BM-1):
- 9,999 DM
- 37,990 FF
Expected in Europe around August 2001.
