On March 27, Samyang and Rokinon teased a new lens on the Samyang Facebook page, saying that it would offer 'immense focus and unparalleled features'. That lens was officially introduced today, and it's a 100mm f2.8 Macro offering with 1:1 magnification and a 1ft. minimum focusing distance. Though it won’t be shipping until next month, the lens is available to pre-order from retailers now.

In addition to the aforementioned features, the lens offers an Ultra Multi-Coating to help keep flare and ghosting to a minimum. There's a rounded 9-blade diaphragm, a non-rotating filter mount, a single high refractive index element and a single extra-low dispersion element. Ten different camera mounts will be available: Four Thirds, Micro Four Thirds, Canon M, Canon EF, Nikon, Pentax, Sony E and A, Samsung NX, and Fujifilm X.

Amazon is offering the lens for pre-order at $599 USD. B&H shows the Rokinon version of the lens as shipping on April 27, with it available for pre-order now at $549 USD. Samyang says the lens will be priced at 549 EUR in Europe.
